Evita MUZIC on the roof of Belgium

The wall of Huy will have kept all its promises.

After 127.2 kilometers, Demi VOLLERING of the SD-WORKS team won. As holders of the title, the girls of the FDJ-SUEZ team were expected on Wednesday, April 19. Nevertheless, the Dutch seemed untouchable.

Despite some doubts during the race, with the two falls of Cecilie UTTRUP LUDWIG, the athletes remained determined to perform on the Belgian classic. Indeed, Evita MUZIC crossed the line in 5th position.

What a final rise of the French!

Still mixed feelings when taking report. We’re frustrated with Cecilie’s falls. She was in a great day, and her return to the peloton had helped to reverse a badly engaged situation. However, the second fall closed the case.

Secondly, we are happy for Evita. She managed, with courage, to finish 5th, despite all the work done previously.

Cédric BARRE (Sport Director)

Evita gives us her assessment, following a result that may seem unexpected at the start of the race, but which confirms all the hopes placed in her.

The race did not go as we had hoped with the two falls of Cecilie, our leader. We did a great job as a team to bring her back to the peloton in the last lap. When she fell for the second time, it was unfortunately over for her.

So they told me, in the earpiece, that they were now counting on me for the final climb. I gave all the strength I had left to get the best result at the top of the wall.

I am very satisfied with this 5th place after the race!
