Buycycle and FDJ-Suez team up to sell Evita Muzic’s bike for charity

Buycycle becomes Official Suppliers Partner of the women’s WorldTour team for the 2024 season. Buycycle, the leading online retailer of top-of-the-range and second-hand bikes, has teamed up with FDJ-Suez for 2024 and will be offering Evita Muzic’s Xelius SL 3 for sale to launch the partnership.

Proceeds from the sale will go to WomenAbility, a non-profit organisation that offers young women in precarious situations the opportunity to learn to ride a bike and gain independence in urban spaces. Since 2023, the association has been deploying learning bikes for beneficiaries within certain social structures. At the same time, research is being carried out to identify the obstacles encountered by these women in cycling, in order to influence future development.

It’s a unique opportunity to own a piece of cycling history while supporting a cause close to the heart of the cycling community. The bike will go on sale online at buycycle.com on Wednesday 6 March at 10am.

«We are delighted to be associated with such a prestigious cycling team and to give back to the community through the sale of Evita’s bike. It’s a unique opportunity for fans to own something special, while creating empowerment opportunities for those who need them.»

Theo Golditchuk, co-founder and CEO of Buycycle

Buycycle has signed up FDJ-Suez as an Official Supplier Partner for the 2024 season.

“We’re excited to be working with buycycle and collaborating on these types of projects to bring special bikes to the global cycling community while supporting a good cause. It’s great to work with a partner in this way to get more people cycling.”

Stephen Delcourt, Chief Executive Officer of FDJ-Suez

Buycycle was founded in 2021 by Jonas, Florian and Theo – three friends united by their love of cycling. At the time, it was extremely difficult to find affordable beginner bikes, especially second-hand ones. When Jonas ordered his first triathlon bike, he didn’t feel comfortable transferring money to a stranger in a local online marketplace, as he wasn’t sure the bike would actually arrive. This experience gave rise to the idea of buycycle, and the three cycling enthusiasts were able to turn their passion into a profession. Today, the founders are delighted to be working towards buycycle’s vision of creating the world’s leading marketplace for high value used bikes, making buying and selling used bikes as easy as riding them.
