A meticulous battle in Rotterdam : Loes within a whisker of victory

Stage 3 – TT Rotterdam-Rotterdam

Over a 6.3km time trial in the city centre, our Dutch rider Loes Adegeest spent almost an hour in provisional 1st place in the day’s classification.

With an excellent time of 7.30 at an average speed of 50.3km/h, Loes was beaten by only 5 seconds by Demi Vollering (SD Worx-Protime), the outgoing winner of the last Tour de France Femmes, and by 17 hundredths by Chloé Dygert (Canyon/SRAM), the world champion in the time trial.

Grace Brown, the Olympic time trial champion at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, set off on a similar, if not faster, basis than the day’s winner, but unfortunately fell victim to a puncture 3.5km from the finish line. It was bad luck for Grace, who also fell twice in two days.

Loes is in 4th place overall this evening. After two urban and dangerous stages passed without damage, our leaders Cecilie and Evita are respectively 38 and 40 seconds behind the day’s winner, Demi Vollering.
