The Ardennes triptych always begins in the Netherlands, with the famous Amstel Gold Race. After a day of difficult weather, Cecilie UTTRUP LUDWIG and Grace BROWN once again shone for the FDJ-SUEZ team.
With a 6th place of the Australian and a 10th place for the Danish, the girls fail only 8 seconds from the local winner, Demi VOLLERING.
The FDJ-SUEZ residents were offensive all day. Special mention to Grace BROWN who was only taken at the beginning of the last ascent of the day, the Cauberg.
We manage to have two girls in the top 10. The race was satisfactory in the state of mind, especially on the second part of the day. We played the leading roles and weighed on the race.
We’ve tried things, especially with Grace. If Soraya PALADIN had collaborated with her, they could have had more lead at the foot of the Cauberg. Despite his great effort, we were still in the race to play the podium. We did not miss much to achieve this result.
