Organization FDJ United-Suez — Professional women’s cycling team (WorldTour)
CONTEXT
As part of the development of its sporting organization and its Performance Department, FDJ United–Suez is looking to strengthen its team with a hybrid profile combining performance coaching and race coaching / sport direction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Coaching and performance support
● Day-to-day individualized coaching of part of the team’s riders, which is based on regular, clear communication with the athletes
● Build annual plans, training cycles, and tapering strategies consistent with individual and collective objectives and rider’s race calendar
● Prescribe, monitor, and adjust training content based on objective data, athlete feedback, and the performance context
● Analyze training and race data and actively participate in weekly performance and sports meetings
● Responsible for organisation of training camps and attend training camps
● Take part in physiological and field testing, translating results into concrete coaching decisions
Sport direction — approximately 50 to 60 days per season
● Responsible for logistic preparation and organisation of races
● Responsible to define team and individual goals, roles and tactical plans of races, together with sports management
● Responsible to lead briefings and debriefs and direct the team from the team car during races
● Contribute to the study of race routes, competitors, tactical scenarios, and race conditions
● Feed lessons learned in competition back into athlete monitoring and planning
Collaboration and collective development
● Work in an integrated way with coaches, sport directors, and medical, nutritional, scientific, or other team staff expertise
● Contribute to sport programming and to the alignment between individual objectives and team strategy
● Take part in training camps, specific performance projects, and coordination meetings
● Share analyses, document decisions, and actively contribute to the development of the team’s methods
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The role is open to a candidate whose specific experience coaching elite cyclists is still developing, particularly if they hold strong expertise in physical preparation or in the tactical / Sport Director dimension. This is not, however, an entry-level or training position. From day one, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate the maturity, judgment, rigor, and credibility required to take responsibility for WorldTour athletes pursuing national and world-level objectives.
Essential skills and experience
● Significant professional experience in elite or high-performance sport
● Demonstrated expertise in individualized training planning, prescription, and monitoring
● Hands-on experience as Sport Director within a structured cycling team
● Ability to analyze and interpret power, heart rate, training load, and physiological testing data, or other data sources
● Ability to make autonomous decisions in the best interests of the entire team
● Ability to adapt quickly, remain flexible, and work effectively in a constantly changing environment
● Professional-level English, spoken and written. Understanding of French is appreciated
Education and international qualifications
● Master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Science, Human Performance, Exercise Physiology, Coaching Science, or a comparable discipline;
Alternative career paths will be considered when supported by significant experience and demonstrated skills in elite sport. The ability to apply knowledge, the quality of experience, and the relevance of the candidate’s background will take precedence over the exact title of the degree.

● Full-time position, primarily focused on coaching and performance monitoring
● Approximately 50 to 60 days per year traveling as Sport Director, according to the team’s calendar
● Approximately 40 to 50 days per year attending training camps, testing sessions, and performance meetings
● Home-based position, with occasional work from the team’s service course when required
● Valid driving license required; a UCI Sport Director qualification or license is required, or the ability to quickly meet the applicable regulatory requirements
