Thaïs Poirier joins the team

The team is delighted to announce the signing of Thaïs Poirier on a three-year contract. The 17-year-old from Périgord arrives with a track record that already commands respect and an ambition to match her talent.

Born on 4 November 2008 in Périgueux, Thaïs trained at the Cyclo Club Périgueux Dordogne alongside her father and joined Marmande Women Développement in 2025.

The summer of 2025 saw her crowned double French junior champion: first in the time trial, 27 seconds ahead of her nearest rival, and then in the road race, following a decisive attack on the final climb. This historic double victory earned her a place in the French U19 team for the World Championships in Kigali, where she finished sixth in the road race.

Thaïs Poirier is undoubtedly one of the most promising talents in French women’s cycling. At just 17 years old, this young Frenchwoman has already made her mark on the international stage thanks to her performances, her racing intelligence and her remarkable ability to read race situations.
What particularly impressed us, beyond her sporting ability, was her maturity. Despite her young age, Thaïs already has a very clear vision of her sporting career and her development. When she joined our training camp this winter, we were impressed by her professionalism, her curiosity and her ability to fit in naturally within a group comprising some of the world’s best cyclists.

Her arrival also holds special significance for our team. Thaïs is from Nouvelle-Aquitaine, our historic home region. Seeing a young athlete from the region choose FDJ United-SUEZ to continue her development is a source of great pride and reaffirms our commitment to nurturing the talents of tomorrow.

We are convinced that Thaïs has everything it takes to succeed at the very highest level. Our role from now on will be to support her with patience and high standards so that she can realise her full potential in the years to come. – Stephen Delcourt, General Manager of FDJ UNITED-SUEZ team

When I took up cycling in the summer of 2021, I never imagined I’d reach this level today. I’m very happy and proud to be joining FDJ United-Suez, a team I’ve looked up to ever since I started out. I can’t wait to embark on this new chapter and give it my all! – Thaïs Poirier
