This Wednesday, between Mysen and Halden, the first stage of the Tour of Scandinavia was the scene of an exciting final on 124.6 kilometers of race.
As the finish line loomed, Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig, brilliantly tried her luck by attacking in the final. On this special day of his 28th birthday, Ludwig seemed to be about to give himself a wonderful gift with a stage victory. Unfortunately, it was picked up just 25 meters from the line.
The Dutch Lorena Wiebes (Team SD Worx) took the opportunity to take the victory in the sprint, followed by the Italian Elisa Balsamo (Lidl-Trek). Despite the disappointment of not crossing the line in the first place, Ludwig managed to get on the podium by taking third place.
His performance promises a continuation committed for the rest of the Tour of Scandinavia!
