In Chambéry, Léa responds with a fine 3ᵉ placeAlongside the Amstel Gold Race, the team was also involved this Sunday in the first round of the Coupe de France Élite Femmes FDJ, at the Grand Prix Féminin de Chambéry. It was a day of fighting spirit, with Léa Curinier, already in good form on the roads of Savoie, finishing a fine third.
On a 119.4 kilometre course around Chambéry-le-Vieux, marked by a succession of bumps, Italian rider Erica Magnaldi (UAE Team ADQ) managed to get away with 17 kilometres to go. She went solo on the penultimate lap and held on to claim a clear victory.
Behind her, Léa was on the offensive at every opportunity. Always well placed, the Drômoise spared no effort to follow the important moves and play her card in the final. Isolated against the collective forces of UAE and Human Powered Health, she was able to hold on to her place in the chasing pack and claim a well-deserved third place.
Léa’s first podium finish of the season underlines her excellent form and that of the team, which was engaged on several fronts during the busy month of April.
