Stage 7 – Champagnole – Le Grand-Bornand
With the mid-range mountains in sight, the women’s peloton set off towards Le Grand-Bornand behind an attractive breakaway including Marianne Vos (Visma-LAB) and Justine Ghekiere (AG Insurance-Soudal). The latter, wearing the polka-dot jersey for best climber, then won solo, with a time of 4 hours and 26 minutes.
Grace Brown, who was very strong today on the slopes of the Col de Saint-Jean-de-Sixt, made the race harder for Evita Muzic. After a strong attack by Demi Vollering and Kasia Newiadoma, our leader and local rider finished 5th at the finish line. Evita moves into the top 10 overall, less than a minute off the podium.
