Eugénie Duval fourth on the Hell of the North

April has its share of legendary races for cycling enthusiasts. Paris-Roubaix, Hell of the North, the mythical paved race for any cyclist.145.4 kilometers and no less than 17 paved sectors were traversed by the warriors of the day.

A difficult race, during which the FDJ-SUEZ team was not spared by the falls. Indeed, at the approach of the first paved sector, Jade WIEL, Marie LE NET, Grace BROWN and Clara COPPONI went to the ground. At that moment, it seemed difficult to imagine a positive final scenario for the French team.

Nevertheless, Eugenie DUVAL, present in the good morning breakaway, was able to play her card to obtain a superb 4th place on the velodrome, the best result of the team in Roubaix. Despite a podium so close, all the blues and reds vibrated behind the cyclist of Besançon.

Once again, the post-race feelings are mixed. There is joy to have been able to weigh on the race and on the finish at the velodrome, but also frustration to pass so close to the podium and the victory.

We must congratulate Eugenie who has covered our backs all day. She was always well placed before the sectors, she managed her race very well. We are very proud of her race.

After, we also leave Roubaix, making the bitter observation that luck was not on our side. This team was strong, they could play the podium see better, but we were not spared by the falls. There was Vittoria during the reconnaissance, then four girls upstream of the first sector. When we do the accounting, we have had too many girls hit and hurt.

We are already looking forward to next year to provoke this chance, and to shine on Paris-Roubaix
