The curtain has fallen on the 4th Tour de France Femmes with ZWIFT 2025, which ended on Sunday in Châtel after nine days of racing and more than 1,168 km of competition. For the team, this edition will be remembered for Demi VOLLERING’s second place in the GC, Elise CHABBEY’s best climber’s jersey and the overall best team classification.
Stage 9 : Praz-sur-Arly → Châtel (124km)
The final stage offered a challenging route with nearly 2,800 metres of elevation gain and three major passes: Arâches-la-Frasse (6.2 km at 7.1%), the formidable Col de Joux-Plane (11.6 km at 8.5%) and the Col du Corbier (5.9 km at 8.5%), before the uphill finish in Châtel – Pré-la-Joux (2.2 km at 5.6%) .
After an initial breakaway led by Anna van der Breggen (SD Worx-Protime), the peloton of favourites took control again in Joux-Plane. Incidents marked this section: Cédrine Kerbaol crashed, and Sarah Gigante, who had been second in the general classification, lost time on the descent. At the summit of Le Corbier, the group of leaders remained compact, with Demi Vollering, Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, Katarzyna Niewiadoma-Phinney, Juliette Labous and Niamh Fisher-Black.
The decisive attack came on the final climb to Châtel. With 6.7 km to go, Pauline Ferrand-Prévot (Visma | Lease a Bike) accelerated and flew solo to stage victory. Demi Vollering took second place, 20 seconds behind, while Niewiadoma completed the podium.
With a place on the final podium, a distinctive jersey and a team classification win, the team has had one of its best campaigns ever in the Tour de France Femmes. Juliette Labous and Évita Muzic finished the Tour in style, earning a well-deserved place in the top 10 (7th and 10th respectively) in the overall classification at the end of the final stage.
