A wind of revenge blew this Thursday, August 24 for Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig.
After being crowned in the sprint during the first stage by the Dutch Lorena Wiebes (Team SD Worx) and Elisa Balsamo (Lidl-Trek), Ludwig left no chance to his opponents during the second stage of the Tour of Scandinavia, between Vikersund and Norefjell, over a distance of 150.5 km.
With impeccable power and strategy, the Dane triumphed in the final, dominating formidable competitors like Annemiek Van Vleuten (Movistar Team) and New Zealand’s Kim Cadzow (Team Jumbo-Visma). Her victory did not stop there: she also took the leader’s jersey of the event, thus consolidating the position of the FDJ-SUEZ on the Tour.
The defending champion of the Tour of Scandinavia was able to highlight her experience, and she is now 8′ ahead of Van Vleuten in the general classification, closely followed by Greta Marturano (Fenix-Deceuninck) with a margin of 17”.
