Eva van Agt claimed victory on Saturday 18 July at the 8th edition of La Périgord Ladies, securing her first-ever UCI-level win at the age of 29.
Over the 126.2 km of this race held in the Dordogne, between Lac de Rouffiac and Boulazac-Isle-Manoir, the Dutch rider broke away from the leading group before the final red flag to win solo in a time of 3h 15′ 06″, averaging over 38 km/h. She finished ahead of her compatriot Karlijn Swinkels (UAE Team ADQ) and the Australian Mackenzie Coupland (Liv AlUla Jayco), who narrowly held off Babette van der Wolf to secure a podium that could otherwise have been an all-Dutch affair. Eva thus succeeds last year’s winner, the Spaniard Paula Blasi, on the winners’ list.
Also worth noting is the fine performance by Kate Courtney, who has only just joined the team: in her debut race wearing the team’s colours, the American finished in 15th place.
